Installation and use of Water Tanks in caravans, motorhomes and campers
An adequate supply of fresh water is essential in your motorhome, caravan, camper or expedition vehicle, especially on longer trips or in places without water supply. You should also consider the amount of service/grey water or waste water required in your motorhome. We offer a wide range of water tanks in different sizes and designs to suit your individual needs in terms of water supply, purpose and available space. Depending on the space available and the installation in your vahicle, motorhome, caravan etc. (e.g. in bench seats, bed boxes, underfloor, etc.), a flat water tank or a water tank in upright or tower design/shape is advantageous.

Easy self-assembly of basic connections on our Water Tanks for vehicles
Installing connections with Push-In BSP Fittings
If you need to install additional or alternative connections at points on our water tanks that are difficult or impossible to access through the existing lid opening, we offer a convenient and flexible solution with our new Push-In BSP Fittings. The Push-In BSP Fittings can be installed completely from the outside at any flat spot. This gives you an external thread of ½ - 2 inches on the water tank. You can then screw other required tank accessories (preferably plastic) onto the external thread of the Push-In BSP Fitting.
If you are storing liquids other than water in the tank, we can also supply the Push-In BSP Fittings with an NBR (diesel resistant) or FPM (chemical resistant) gaskets. For more information on sizes and installation on the water tank, click on "More info on installation" or view the video.
Use of the existing brass threaded BSP Outlets on our Water Tanks
All natural translucent and in colour-configurable water tanks for use in caravans, motorhomes, campers or expedition vehicles already have a brass threaded BSP outlet (brass internal thread). These are usually used as an outlet. For this purpose, you can fit our Brass Tank Connection Sets in a suitable inch size directly to the water tank.
Depending on the space available and the application, you can choose between our straight or bend Brass Connection Sets. Depending on the size of the brass threaded BSP outlet on the water tank, the Brass Tank Connection Sets end with a 10mm, 13mm or 25mm hosetail.

Installing connections with PVC Connections
With our PVC Connections and PVC tank Connection Sets, you can install an inlet, overflow or vent with screw connections on your water tank yourself. Just make sure that the desired location for the PVC Tank Connection is accessible through the lid opening.
Once you have drilled a hole in the appropriate inch size, push the tank connection through the wall of the water tank from the inside to the outside and screw on the lock nut supplied from the outside. This provides an external thread to which you can screw other accessories as required.

Connecting Water Tanks in your vehicle / caravan / camper
To make the most of the limited space in your vehicle with a water tank, we offer extra flat, upright or tall/tower versions of our water tanks. However, as it is not always possible to make full use of every dimension, it often makes sense to connect two or more water tanks in your vehicle. The existing brass threaded BSP outlets are recommended for this, as it is attached to the water tank as low as possible, allowing the water to be optimally distributed in the connected water tanks. A flexible hose connection with hosetails and hose sections can also prevent damage to the water tank connection and its fittings from shocks and vibrations during mobile use.
Cleaning the Water Tank in your vehicle, caravan
The lid opening of our water tanks is large enough for regular cleaning. We recommend at least one thorough cleaning of the water tank per season, by hand and with a brush, to remove any biofilm that may have formed on the inner walls of the tank. Depending on use, flow rate and personal preference, it is also advisable to clean the tank regularly with a suitable detergent based on chlorine dioxide, active oxygen, vinegar essence or fruit acids such as citric acid.
Production of our Water Tanks for vehicle installation - no custom sizes available for single pieces
Unfortunately, due to the manufacturing process (rotational moulding) in prefabricated aluminium or steel moulds, it is not viable to produce tanks to your required dimensions on a one-off basis. However, we do not supply water tanks welded from PE plates, but high quality rotationally moulded tanks from a single mould without welds. This means that leaks or cracks in the our water tanks are virtually impossible. However, to prevent leaks at the tank lid, we recommend that the water tank is always installed with the existing lid opening facing upwards. For this reason, we have many identical water tanks in our range in a flat, upright or tower design. This allows you to make the most of the space available. We are confident that you will be very happy with your new water tank for your vehicle.
