Additional threads through Spin Weld Outlets (LLDPE)
What is a Spin Weld Outlet?
Spin Weld Outlets are additional plastic internal threads, which are welded to the tank wall after production of the tank. These can be used as alternative or additional connections in ½ inch until 2 inch on our tanks, if the desired position for a connection is not accessible via the lid opening or if you do not want to install a PP-, PVC- or PE-connection to the tank yourself.
Spin Weld Outlet - Installation
Spin welding or friction welding involves inserting a plastic fitting into a close fit hole and rapidly spinning it by means of a router to fuse the fitting to the product (usually a polyethylene tank).
Each fitting incorporates a 360° energy director focusing the friction on a smaller surface area to help initiate the melt giving a faster more secure bond.
Eight external support ribs spaced evenly around each fitting offers optimal load distribution resulting in excellent mechanical strength even when under load from input/output pipes.
Manufactured from virgin, LLDPE (Linear Low Density Polyethyleen) with a 7-year UV stability guarantee.
FDA approved LLDPE, safe for food and water storage.
Thread Type: BSP (British-Standard-Pipe)
Where can Spin Weld Outlets be installed?
Spin Weld Outlets are only available in natural transluscent. In principle, every straight surface on our water tanks is suitable for this, except at the round edges as well as at the baffles of the tanks.
Please note:
- There should be a distance of at least 20 mm between the edges of two Spin Weld Outlets on the water tank.
- Distance from the tank edges to the edge of the Spin Weld Outlet at least 10 mm.
- Overhang on the tank front is approx. 10-16 mm depending on the size of the Spin Weld Outlet.
- Accessories on Spin Weld Outlets should only be installed hand-tight and sealed accordingly.

Spin Weld Outlets will be attached at the desired locations on the tank and welded onto the tank wall. With this method you get internal threads for additional or alternative connections on desired locations on the tank. The cover of the Spin Weld Outlet will stick out approx. 10-15 mm depending on the size. At Spin Weld Outlets you can choose the sizes you need. Delivery Time for Tanks incl. Spin Weld Outlets is ca. 5-6 weeks after receipt of payment/order confirmation.

How do I order a tank with Spin Weld Outlets?
- You can´t order Spin Weld Outlets individually. This is only possible in combination with our natural transluscent watertanks as 1/2 inch to 2 inch female thread. The Spin Weld Outletss are always getting installed on the tank itself.
- Enter the position and sizes of the connections on the technical drawing of the desired tank. The technical drawing can be found on the respective product page as a PDF-file.
- Put the required water tank including the desired Spin Weld Outlets in the shopping cart and place your order.
- Send us the technical drawing with your Spin Weld Outlets, including the corresponding position and sizes by e-mail to zeichnungen@tanksdirekt.de Please also refer to your order number of your placed order.
- After receiving payment and checking the technical feasibility, we will commission the production. Please note that the production of an individualized plastic tank takes about 5-6 weeks.
We ask for your understanding that these products are excluded from the right of withdrawal according to your individual requirements. (Tanks with Spin Weld Outlets or tanks in RAL colours different from natural transluscent)
